چکیده

With the utilization of the multirate sampling, both the channel selection and frequency uptranslation with simultaneous sampling rate increase is achieved by the proposed SwitchedCapacitor (SC) bandpass interpolating filter for an efficient Direct-Digital Frequency Synthesis (DDFS) system with the resulting dual rewards in the speed reduction to DDFS digital core plus Digital-to-Analog (DAC) as well as the order relaxation to the post continuous-time smoothing filter. This SC bandpass filter realizes 15-tap FIR, 57 MHz center frequency and >45 dB stopband rejection with translating 80 Ms/s, 22-24 MHz input signals to 56-58 MHz output at 320 MHz sampling rate (proper operation up to 400 Ms/s) in 0.35 μm CMOS. Specific multinotch FIR function, low-speed polyphase-based interpolation structure with Autozeroing, highspeed SC circuitry and opamp as well as ultra-low timing-skew multiple phase generation will be presented for achieving high-frequency, high-performance operations. The prototype IC’s exhibit 61 dB Signal-to-Noise and Distortion Ratio (SNDR), 69 dB for 1% THD and 61 dB for 1% IM3 dynamic range, and consume 2 mm active area, 120 and 16 mW power at a single 2.5V supply for analog and digital with corresponding to 8.6 mW analog power per zero.

A Tunable Bandpass Filter Using Q-enhanced and Semi-passive Inductors at S-band in 0.18- Μm Cmos

A fully-integrated bandpass filter using Q-enhanced and semi-passive inductors is design, implemented and verified experimentally in a standard 0.18-μm CMOS process. The inductors achieve high-Q factors by using a tapped-inductor feedback technique to produce negative resistances. Compared with conventional transformer feedback, the proposed technique not only compensates resistive losses with ...

A 20 MHz BP-PWM and BP-DSM Class-D PA in 0.18 μm CMOS

This paper presents a Class-D power amplifier for bandpass pulse width modulated (BP-PWM) and bandpass deltasigma modulated (BP-DSM) signals at 20 MHz. A 1-bit 6-th order topology is used in the ∆Σ-modulator. Integral noise shaping is used in the generation of the bandpass pulse width modulated signal. A two sided pulse width modulation is used with a 6-bit 4th-order noise shaper. The push-pull...

Design of Low Power 4-Tap 8-Bit Adiabatic FIR Filter

Digital signal processing (DSP) is used to perform filtering, decimation and down conversion in common communications systems, like in oversampling analog to digital converters in wireless and audio applications. This paper describes a design of low order FIR (finite impulse response) filters to be used at the high sampling rates for achieving a low power DSP implementation. This paper reviews ...

A 70 MHz Multiplierless FIR Hilbert Transformer in 0.35 µm Standard CMOS Library

This paper presents the implementation of a 31-tap FIR Hilbert transform digital filter chip used in the digital-IF receivers, to confirm the effectiveness of our new design method. Our design method that we previously reported is based on a computation sharing multiplier using a new horizontal and vertical common subexpression techniques. A 31-tap FIR Hilbert transform digital filter was imple...

The Q-Enhanced CMOS Active Bandpass Filter with Two-Stage Self-Calibration

A Q-enhanced 8th order CMOS active bandpass filter is presented employing a novel two-stage self-calibration technique. The proposed active filter shows the better out-band attenuation performance than other reported CMOS active bandpass filters. The proposed calibration method enables the stable filtering operation affected by neither the input power variation nor the strong interference power...
